Here’s a simple and delicious gnocchi recipe with an easy sauce:
Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) potato gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes (or 1 ½ cups fresh diced tomatoes)
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp dried oregano or basil (or both)
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the Gnocchi:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the gnocchi and cook until they float (about 2-3 minutes). Drain and set aside.
2. Make the Sauce:
In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil or butter.
Sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
3. Combine:
Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce and toss gently.
Cook for another minute to let the flavors meld.
4. Serve:
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
