Gnocchi with Simple Sauce

Here’s a simple and delicious gnocchi recipe with an easy sauce:

Ingredients:

1 lb (450g) potato gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)

2 tbsp olive oil or butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes (or 1 ½ cups fresh diced tomatoes)

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

½ tsp dried oregano or basil (or both)

¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions:

1. Cook the Gnocchi:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Add the gnocchi and cook until they float (about 2-3 minutes). Drain and set aside.

2. Make the Sauce:

In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil or butter.

Sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.

3. Combine:

Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce and toss gently.

Cook for another minute to let the flavors meld.

4. Serve:

Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

Enjoy warm!
